HCC and Joint Veterans Council held meeting

Joint Veterans Council of Washington County visits HCC's Veterans Connection Center

(May 25, 2017) – Hagerstown Community College recently held a meeting with members of the Joint Veterans Council of Washington County to discuss recruitment, enrollment, retention, and support services for student veterans at HCC.

Included in the meeting, in addition to members of the JVCWC, were HCC President Guy Altieri, HCC student veterans, and members of the college administration and student services office.

HCC maintains a Veterans Connection Center, which is staffed by a full-time recruiter/advisor, Angela Ryan. HCC and the JVCWC plan to work together to assist veterans in accessing resources and taking advantage of their education benefits.

The JVCWC is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization, formed in 1987. Its mission is to disseminate information about veteran activities and benefits, to those from all branches of the military.
