(Hagerstown, Md.)— Hagerstown Community College will hold “An Evening of Guitar,” on Thursday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m., in the Student Center. The concert will feature local musicians Danny Webber and Candice Mowbray with special guests Arnie Helmick on bass and Edgar Myers on drums.

Guitarists Webber and Mowbray are versatile musicians with interests and influences that are wide ranging. Together, the guitarists offer an evening of engaging and diverse music for solo classical guitar, classical and electric guitar duet, and jazz trio.

Webber earned his master’s of music in classical guitar performance from Shenandoah Conservatory and is most often heard performing in contemporary jazz groups that blur lines between stylistic genres. For many years, audiences heard Webber performing in hard rock groups such as “Thique” and “Just Cause.” Mowbray also studied at Shenandoah Conservatory, where she earned her doctorate of musical arts in classical guitar performance and taught for almost ten years. She enjoys an active career as a professional soloist and chamber musician, performing programs of classical guitar music that also evoke myriad influences including jazz and world music.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the HCC Student Activities Office at 240-500-2225.
