HCC honors GED and EDP graduates

(May 16, 2017) – Hagerstown Community College recently held its annual adult education commencement ceremony. Student speakers at the event included Amanda Hewitt, of Smithsburg, to represent the National External Diploma Program (NEDP), and Adam Jones, of Hagerstown, who represented the General Equivalency Development (GED) program.

Hewitt and Jones are both examples of students who struggled with education years ago, but have since persevered and worked through their challenges to earn their diplomas. Hewitt is currently working as a certified nursing assistant and Jones plans to continue his studies at HCC through the engineering sciences program.
