(May 22, 2009) - Hagerstown Community College held its seventh annual Honors Convocation on Thursday, May 14, 2009, in its Athletic, Recreation, and Community Center. The event recognized special awards, Phi Theta Kappa membership, graduation honors, Maryland Zeta Chapter of Lambda Nu for Radiological Sciences membership, and dean’s list honors.
Following remarks from HCC President Guy Altieri, attendees heard from Judith Oleks, vice president of academic affairs; Judith Peisen, chair, mathematics and science division; and two students, Charles S. Umbaugh and Julie L. Weaver.
The awards were presented by Joan Johnson, chair, English and humanities division, and Dawn Schoenenberger, director, developmental education and adult literacy services division, and recognized by Altieri and the HCC board of trustees.
