(November 21, 2017) - The TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) program at Hagerstown Community College recently recognized 65 students who were accepted into the program within the past year.
TRiO SSS is a unique program designed to assist first-generation and income-eligible students, and students with documented disabilities. As a federally funded program, TRiO SSS seeks to guide participants through their first two years of postsecondary education with the ultimate goal of graduation and transfer to a four-year university or entry into a chosen career. By providing various services and a support system, the program works to enable students to overcome any barriers they may face to achieve personal, academic, and financial success.
HCC’s TRiO SSS Program serves a total of 175 students per year. Program benefits include academic advising, tutoring, financial advising, college trips, cultural events, and workshops. Applications and eligibility information can be found at www.hagerstowncc.edu/triosss. For additional information, contact the TRiO office at 240-500-2659, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
