(April 28, 2020) –Hagerstown Community College will offer STEM-focused courses for homeschool students this fall.
Algebra and life sciences/biology classes are designed for advanced middle school students. Labs will meet on Thursdays during the year. Geometry and chemistry, for ninth and tenth grade-level learners, will meet on Tuesdays.
Each course consists of an online, self-paced program with a hands-on learning lab component. Courses will be aligned with the academic fall and spring calendars, and run for a total of 30 weeks.
Students work through lessons and materials online at their own pace. Each week, students will meet on campus for experiential learning in the HCC’s science labs and/or educational spaces, with experienced faculty supporting the online content.
