(June 12, 2019) – The Hagerstown Community College Foundation recently received a donation of $28,665 from the estate of Deborah R. Myers and her husband, William Munz, to establish the Debbie Myers Memorial Scholarship, to assist nursing students. “Debbie was an active member of the HCC Alumni Association, having served on the Alumni Board and as a volunteer, throughout the years, for many Alumni events,” said Lisa Stewart, HCC coordinator of alumni relations. “She was devoted to HCC and I am pleased to know she remembered HCC in her will.” The Debbie Myers Memorial Scholarship is an endowed scholarship held in trust by the HCC Foundation, Inc. The interest from the gift is awarded annually to HCC nursing students to help cover their tuition need. Eligible nursing students must show demonstrated financial need, reside in Washington County, and maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average. For more information on the scholarship, contact the HCC College Advancement Office at 240-500-2348, or visit www.hagerstowncc.edu/hcc-foundation.
