(May 18, 2020) – Hagerstown Community College is pleased to announce the awarding of degrees and certificates to 370 students in its spring 2020 graduating class. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the traditional May commencement ceremony has been canceled, but plans are being developed for a ceremony to be held later this year.
Nursing was the most popular program of study, followed by business administration and general studies. Of the spring graduates, 150 completed programs in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, and medical) fields.
The HCC dean of students reports that 240 associate degrees in the transfer curricula were awarded to spring graduates who plan to continue their education at a four-year institution. The top choices of colleges for HCC graduates in transfer programs include the University of Maryland, Towson University, Shepherd University, Frostburg State University, and Shippensburg University. Other transfer institutions include West Virginia University, Temple University, Juniata College, Mount St. Mary’s College, Embry Riddle, William and Mary, and many others.
