HCC students collect more than 50 blankets for blanket drive

SGA students deliver blankets to Humane Society of Washington County collected during Blanket Drive on campus.

(January 8, 2019)— During the months of November and December, the Student Government Association (SGA) at Hagerstown Community College held a blanket drive to benefit local non-profits. More than 50 blankets were collected and donated to Soldiers’ Angels, Project Linus, and Humane Society of Washington County.

“The SGA was thrilled to be able to provide comfort for a variety of charities with our blanket drive,” said Heather Wallen, HCC SGA president. “We were surprised by the number of blankets donated by students and employees for the Human Society and Solders’ Angels, and also by the help we received making blankets for Project Linus.”
