(October 27, 2017)— Students in Hagerstown Community College’s introduction to theater class will perform two one-act plays in the Kepler Black Box Theater at HCC on Nov. 3 and 4 at 8 p.m., and Nov. 5 at 2:30 p.m. These plays explore the power and emotion of poetry.
“Those Who Can, Do,” by Brighde Mullins, is directed by Heather Lee Wallen and takes place at the fictitious Washington County Community College. In this play, Anne Marie, played by student Makayla Smith, embarks on a college teaching career and has challenges to overcome along the way.
“Sonder,” written and directed by Heather Lee Wallen, is based on “the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own…,” from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, a Web series by John Koening.
Admission is free but seating is limited and tickets are required for entry. To obtain tickets online, visit www.hagerstowncc.edu/productions. For more information, contact Professor Mike Harsh, producer, at email@example.com.
