Industry professionals provide portfolio review to HCC design students

(June 12, 2018)— Hagerstown Community College’s Technology and Computer Studies Division hosted a portfolio review earlier this spring with 18 industry professionals on HCC’s main campus. Many of the reviewers are HCC alumni.

Reviewers analyzed the work of students studying graphic design, web and multimedia, and simulation and digital entertainment. Each student was required to submit a portfolio to three reviewers and participate in a mock job interview.

Industry professionals included: Brody Barbour, of High Rock Studios; Chris Brewer, of Design Elements; Amber Buhrman, of Worx; Allan Carter, of Signera; Chris Grahl, of d’Vinci Interactive; Kevin Gorman, of Sierra Nevada; Jill Harner, of Flyeye Design; Sam Jones, design freelancer; Jillian MacMaster, of Washington County Museum of Fine Arts; Matt Matzen, of Power Marketing; Bettina Messersmith, of James Rumsey Technical Institute; Dan Murphy, of DM Designs, LLC; Shannon Myers, of Datachieve Digital; Bonnie Saunders, of Hagerstown Community College; Crystal Schelle, of The Herald Mail; Lori Schulman, of HBP, Inc.; Lisa Sheirer, of Frederick Community College; Vijay-Kumar Solanki, of d’Vinci Interactive; Michael Sparks, of Signera; and Brian Teller, of Signera.
