Joan Johnson named HCC Faculty of the Year

Faculty of the Year 2018, Joan Johnson, presented rocking chiar gift.

(December 20, 2018) – Hagerstown Community College recently recognized Joan Johnson, professor of English composition, as the faculty of the year for 2018.

Johnson started her career at HCC teaching as an adjunct faculty member in 1994 and became a full-time faculty member in 1999. From 2006 to 2012, she was the division chair for English and Humanities. During that time, she co-chaired two state-wide writing committees working to align standards for college composition.

Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Towson University and went on to obtain a Master of Arts degree from Shippensburg University.
