(August 27, 2019)— As part of the Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association’s Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series on Saturday, August 17, Ronald Wayne Taylor, HCC volunteer and alumnus, was recognized by Jeff Kline, president of the Board of County Commissioners of Washington County.
Taylor, was honored for his 15 years of involvement in the HCC Alumni Association’s Red, White and Blue concerts, having brought more than 155 U.S. Military Bands to the college. He was also recognized for serving in the U.S. Air Force and his various roles with the HCC Alumni Association, including HCC Alumni Association Board of Directors, former president; Alumni Amphitheater, vice president; and member of the Flower & Garden Show Committee.
"Wayne Taylor's lifelong patriotism coupled with his desire to see the HCC Alumni Amphitheater programmed throughout the summer months opened the doors to the tradition of bringing United States Military bands to Hagerstown Community College. His subsequent unfaltering dedication to, and leadership of, the Alumni Association's Red, White and Blue Concert Series has provided our community with fifteen years of free entertainment of the highest caliber," said Lisa Stewart, HCC coordinator of alumni relations and annual giving. "We are very proud to have Wayne working with us as a Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association volunteer."
