(September 1, 2017)— The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.
The U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note is a 20-member jazz ensemble that first began performing in 1950. One of the last touring big bands, the Airmen of Note have performed throughout the United States and abroad and have performed alongside world-renowned artists such as Dizzy Gillespie, Sarah Vaughan, Joe Williams, Nancy Wilson, and others. The band currently performs under the direction of Captain Dustin M. Doyle.
Sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 312, Joint Veterans Council, Amvets Riders Chapter 10, Forty & Eight Voiture 651, and Mr. Edmund Ruos, this concert is free and open to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please note that no outside food is permitted on the amphitheater grounds and concerts are subject to change by the U.S. Military.
