(August 2, 2017)— The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the Six-String Soldiers of the U.S. Army Field Band as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Saturday, August 12, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.
Part of The U.S. Army Field Band, Six-String Soldiers is a four-member acoustic group. Under the direction of Master Sergeant John Lamirande, the group performs Americana, folk, bluegrass, and Irish music in an informal setting. With its focus on audience interaction and sharing its members’ stories and experiences as American Soldiers, Six-String Soldiers offers one of the most personal musical experiences found in the U.S. Army.
Sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 312, Joint Veterans Council, Amvets Riders Chapter 10, Forty & Eight Voiture 651, and Mr. Edmund Ruos, this concert is free -MORE- and open to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please note that no outside food is permitted on the amphitheater grounds and concerts are subject to change by the U.S. Military.
