(June 26, 2018)— The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the Six-String Soldiers of the U.S. Army Field Band as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Saturday, July 7, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.
Part of The U.S. Army Field Band, Six-String Soldiers is a five-member acoustic group. Under the direction of Chief Warrant Officer Daniel Wood, the group performs Americana, folk, bluegrass, and Irish music in an informal setting. With its focus on audience interaction and sharing its members’ stories and experiences as American Soldiers, Six-String Soldiers offers one of the most personal musical experiences found in the U.S. Army.
"We honor the fallen and recognize all veterans who served their country," said Col. Jim Keene. "As we present patriotic favorites, we know Americans will be filled with pride in our soldiers and in our nation."
Sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 312, Joint Veterans Council, and Forty & Eight Voiture 651, this concert is free and open to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please note that no outside food is permitted on the amphitheater grounds and concerts are subject to change by the U.S. Military.
