(July 30, 2019)— The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Fleet Forces Band’s Wind Ensemble as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Saturday, August 10, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.
U.S. Fleet Forces Band, known as "The Finest of the Fleet," is the musical representative for Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia. The band provides musical support for ships, military bases, foreign dignitaries, and community events throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Ohio River Valley region, and regularly deploys to Central and South America. Under the direction of Lt. Gregory Fritz, the band is staffed by some of the U.S. Navy's finest and most talented musicians. The Wind Ensemble will present a wide-range of music from traditional marches, popular songs, patriotic favorites, and the finest works of wind band literature.
Sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 312, Joint Veterans Council, Amvets Riders Chapter 10, and Forty & Eight Voiture 651, this concert is free and open to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please note that no outside food is permitted on the amphitheater grounds and concerts are subject to change by the U.S. Military.
