  • HCC to hold info sessions for Promise Program

    Program information sessions for the Maryland and HCC Promise Programs will be held on Jan. 8 and 24, and Feb. 5 and 21, at 4 p.m., in the Student Center on HCC’s main campus. College Promise programs make the cost of community college more affordable to qualifying students. 

  • HCC announces fall 2018 dean’s list

    Hagerstown Community College recently announced its dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must be attending school full-time (12 credits or more of college-level courses, 101 and above) and earn a minimum quality-point average of 3.50 for the most recent semester.

  • HCC students tour Volvo

    Students studying mechanical engineering technology and advanced manufacturing recently went on a tour of the Volvo plant in Hagerstown. 

  • HCC raises $10,251 to benefit United Way of Washington County

    During the month of October, faculty, staff, and students from Hagerstown Community College held a giving campaign to benefit the United Way of Washington County. Between October 1 and October 31, $10,251 was collected or pledged to the United Way. 

  • Wilson College, HCC Partner on Accord to Provide Students with Smooth Transition between Institutions

    Wilson College and HCC have reached an agreement guaranteeing qualified HCC students admission to Wilson bachelor’s degree programs and allowing them to transfer all credits earned with a grade of C or higher. The goal is to encourage more HCC graduates to pursue a bachelor’s degree after they complete their associate degree by making the transition as smooth and economical as possible, according to officials at both institutions.

  • HCC receives NEH grant

    Hagerstown Community College was recently awarded a three-year, $96,627 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. HCC’s grant is part of $14.8 million in grants to support 253 humanities projects in 44 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico. 

  • HCC receives gift from the Fletcher Foundation

    Hagerstown Community College was recently awarded a three-year, $98,372 grant from the Alice Virginia and David W. Fletcher Foundation for the purpose of improving job training programs and enhancing economic development opportunities.

  • The Flower and Garden Show

    Hagerstown Community College's Alumni Association will host its Twenty-Sixth Annual Fower and Garden Show in the ARCC on Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Show admission is $5 per adult and children under 12 are free. Parking is also free for this event.

  • Business Club Meeting in TIC

    The new Executive Director of the Technical Innovation Center (TBD) will lead a panel discussion with small businesses from the center allowing students to learn about the issues that entrepreneurs face when starting a business.  This is always a very informative and interactive session.
