  • LSC Writing Workshops - March 3-6

    The Learning Support Center (LSC) will host a free workshop series on citing sources from March 3 to March 6 in the Learning Support Center. Citing Sources and Avoiding Plagiarism will help students learn how to integrate sources, format in-text citations and footnotes, and create a bibliography page for a variety of writing styles.

  • Spring Break - March 8-14

    Spring Break will be held for faculty and students from March 8 through March 14, 2015. No classes will be held during that time. The entire campus will be closed on March 13.

  • New art exhibit on display at HCC through April 2

    (Release: March 2, 2015) – A new exhibit featuring the work of artist and adjunct faculty member Rob Rock will be on display from March 5 through April 2 in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus.

  • New format for Academic Advising begins March 2

    HCC's academic advising office is moving to a new hybrid appointment/walk-in model beginning on Monday, March 2, 2015. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will be appointment days and Mondays and Thursdays will be walk-in days.

  • Robinwood Players Variety Show - March 7

    HCC's Robinwood Players Theater Club will host a variety show on Saturday, March 7, beginning at 7 p.m., in the Kepler Theater. General admission is $10. Open to the public.

  • College for Kids Open House - March 7

    The open house for HCC’s College for Kids program, originally scheduled for Feb. 21, has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at HCC’s Valley Mall Center.

  • HCC’s Nora Roberts Writing Institute renamed Mid-Atlantic Fiction Writers Institute

    (Release: February 20, 2015)— The Nora Roberts Writing institute (NRWI) at Hagerstown Community College was recently renamed the Mid-Atlantic Fiction Writers Institute.

    Held every summer on the campus of HCC, NRWI's first two years featured comprehensive weekend writing retreats with sessions taught by bestselling authors and college faculty.

  • WCPS Math & Engineering Career Day Postponed

    The WCPS Math and Engineering Career Day, originally scheduled for Friday, Feb. 20, has been postponed. The event will be rescheduled at a later date. In addition, the S-STEM seminar, originally scheduled for the morning of Feb. 20, has been canceled and will not meet this week.

  • Police Academy now accepting applications

    (Release: February 19, 2015)— Applications are now being accepted for the next class of the Hagerstown Community College Police Academy. The class starts July 6 and runs through December 18, 2015. The application deadline is May 1, 2015.

  • Tobacco Free for Life Workshop

    On Wednesday, March 4, the Washington County Health Department will offer a free "Tobacco Free for Life" workshop from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Student Center.

    Program information session for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wednesday, March 4, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the STEM Building, room 407.

  • Exploring Strategies for Multiplying and Dividing Whole Numbers

    A free math lecture series will be presented at Hagerstown Community College in February and March. Associate Professor Joseph Mason will present four lectures with a focus on “Viewing Math from a Different Side,” in which he will describe a variety of strategies for performing computational math.

  • Art Show: Works Completed while Abducted by Aliens

    A new exhibit featuring the work of artist and adjunct faculty member Rob Rock will be on display from March 5 through April 2 in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus. The exhibit, “Works Completed while Abducted by Aliens: New Artworks and Other Nonsense,” seeks to use abduction by aliens as a metaphor for viewing society from a distance, the way a stranger or an alien would.
