  • HCC dental clinic receives donation

    The Dental Education Clinic at Hagerstown Community College recently received a generous monetary donation from Associated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Drs. Jon Pike, Howard Nelson, and Nahla Chaudhary. The money was used to purchase a new ultrasonic instrument cleaner, a mobile 25-foot divider wall, a new power scaler foot pedal, and several teaching mouth models. 

  • HCC to offer advanced manufacturing free summer institute for high school students

    Hagerstown Community College will offer an Advanced Manufacturing Institute this summer for area high school students and graduates. This competitive program provides three college credits at the completion of the summer program. Funding from the National Science Foundation allows students to attend the institute for free. It will be held from July 19 to August 22, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. 

  • Free showing of Zootopia at HCC

    Hagerstown Community College’s Student Government Association will host a free showing of Disney’s action film, “Zootopia,” on Friday, June 10, and Saturday, June 11, in the Student Center on HCC’s main campus. Show times are 6 p.m. on June 10 and 2 p.m. on June 11. This event is free and is open to the public and tickets are not required. 

  • College for Kids Summer Program to begin June 20

    Hagerstown Community College will begin another summer of College for Kids programming on June 20. The week-long courses cover a variety of exciting subjects for students in elementary through high school. Classes start June 20 and continue through the week of August 1. 

  • Portraiture class to be offered this fall

    Hagerstown Community College will offer a portraiture class on Thursday afternoons, from 1 to 4:35 p.m., beginning September 1, in the Kepler Center. The fall portraiture class is a three-credit, upper-level class for students with basic drawing skills who wish to broaden their ability to create strong visual images. 

  • HCC to offer accelerated hybrid paramedic program this fall

    Hagerstown Community College is offering an accelerated hybrid paramedic certification program this fall. The program will allow students to earn a certificate in Paramedic Emergency Services in just 12 months. Classes begin on August 30 and are held on Tuesdays from 3 to 9:30 p.m., in the Career Programs Building on HCC’s main campus. 

  • Pinning ceremony honors HCC health sciences graduates

    The 2016 graduates of the health sciences division at Hagerstown Community College were honored at a pinning ceremony on May 14. Dental assisting, dental hygiene, medical assisting, paramedic, pharmacy technician, and radiography were among the program areas included in this year’s ceremony. 

  • HCC Dance Company accepting new members for fall 2016

    The HCC Dance Company is looking for new members for the fall 2016 semester. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, May 31, at 7 p.m., in the HCC dance studio in the Kepler Visual and Performing Arts center. The Dance Company at HCC is comprised of intermediate to advanced dancers with previous dance experience.

    Campus Tours will be held each Tuesday, July 19 through August 23, at 10 a.m. and each Wednesday, July 20 through August 24, at 3 p.m. The tour will begin in the Student Activities Office, Student Center room 163, and will last approximately one hour. Students will be shown where their classrooms are located, so please bring a class schedule.

The camp is designed for players of all skill levels who want to work on fundamentals of the game or learn the game for the first time. Training groups will be established to ensure that participants get the appropriate instruction within their skill levels.
