  • HCC holds reception for TRiO Upward Bound students

    Hagerstown Community College recently held its sixth annual TRIO Upward Bound Reception. The event represents an end-of-the-year celebration for the TRIO Upward Bound students and their achievements during the 2017-2018 school year.

  • Rakoski joins HCC dance department

    The English and Humanities Division at HCC recently announced that dancer Liz Fink-Rakoski has joined HCC’s dance department as an adjunct faculty member. At HCC, Rakoski will be teaching jazz and beginning ballet courses, exposing students to current jazz dance trends and upholding traditional ballet standards. 

  • HCC names Trammell as new head men’s soccer coach

    Christopher (CJ) Trammell has been named head men’s soccer coach for the 2018-19 academic year at Hagerstown Community College. An HCC alumnus, Trammell helped make team history in 2010 with a 6-0 season start as a defensive midfielder.

  • Financial Aid Office to host FAFSA Lab on Aug. 10

    The Student Financial Aid Office at Hagerstown Community College will host a free FAFSA Lab for students on Friday, August 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room 335. HCC’s FAFSA Lab is open to current and prospective HCC students, as well as parents, to complete the FAFSA and receive assistance from a financial aid administrator. 

  • U.S. Navy Country Current to perform Sept. 15 at HCC

     The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Navy Country Current as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.

  • HCC to offer free nursing assistant terminology course for ESL students

    Adult Literacy Services at HCC will offer a free CNA/GNA terminology course for English as a Second Language (ESL) students, starting September 24. This course is designed to prepare ESL students with the terminology skills necessary to be successful in HCC’s CNA/GNA program. 

  • HCC to offer two new career courses this fall

    The Continuing Education and Workforce Development Division at Hagerstown Community College will offer two new career courses this fall, one for EKG technician and another for medical administrative assistant. 

  • HCC Middle College to hold info sessions

    Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wednesdays, August 8 and September 19, at 4 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room 254. 

  • 257th Army Band to perform August 6 at HCC

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the 257th Army Band as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Monday, August 6, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater. 

  • HCC to host manufacturing conference

    Hagerstown Community College will host a one-day conference, entitled “Manufacturing 4.0: Creating a Skilled Workforce,” on Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the HCC campus. The conference is intended for regional industry professionals, educators, and students who are stakeholders in creating the new workforce.

  • How Apprenticeship Can Grow Your Business

    HCC will host an Apprenticeship Seminar on Wednesday, October 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Elliott Center located in the Career Programs Building. The seminar is free to attend and lunch will be served. To register, please call 240-500-2236.

  • MEG Presents: How to be a Respectable Junkie

    A Maryland premiere, How to be a Respectable Junkie is a new play by Greg Vovos that addresses the opioid crisis head-on. The story based on the life of a recovered herion addict and offers insight into the mind of an addict and the hope that exists for those who are struggling. The play will be held in the Kepler's Black Box Theater on October 4 through the October 7.
