  • HCC students collect more than 50 blankets for blanket drive

    During the months of November and December, the Student Government Association (SGA) at Hagerstown Community College held a blanket drive to benefit local non-profits. More than 50 blankets were collected and donated to Soldiers’ Angels, Project Linus, and Humane Society of Washington County. 

  • HCC accepts 30 new members into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

    Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national honor society at Hagerstown Community College, recently accepted 30 new members. To be eligible for PTK, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and must have completed 12 credit hours of college-level work at HCC. 

  • HCC to hold info sessions for Promise Program

    Program information sessions for the Maryland and HCC Promise Programs will be held on Jan. 8 and 24, and Feb. 5 and 21, at 4 p.m., in the Student Center on HCC’s main campus. College Promise programs make the cost of community college more affordable to qualifying students. 

  • HCC announces fall 2018 dean’s list

    Hagerstown Community College recently announced its dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must be attending school full-time (12 credits or more of college-level courses, 101 and above) and earn a minimum quality-point average of 3.50 for the most recent semester.

  • HCC students tour Volvo

    Students studying mechanical engineering technology and advanced manufacturing recently went on a tour of the Volvo plant in Hagerstown. 

  • HCC raises $10,251 to benefit United Way of Washington County

    During the month of October, faculty, staff, and students from Hagerstown Community College held a giving campaign to benefit the United Way of Washington County. Between October 1 and October 31, $10,251 was collected or pledged to the United Way. 

  • Wilson College, HCC Partner on Accord to Provide Students with Smooth Transition between Institutions

    Wilson College and HCC have reached an agreement guaranteeing qualified HCC students admission to Wilson bachelor’s degree programs and allowing them to transfer all credits earned with a grade of C or higher. The goal is to encourage more HCC graduates to pursue a bachelor’s degree after they complete their associate degree by making the transition as smooth and economical as possible, according to officials at both institutions.

  • HCC ESSENCE Program Information Night

    The HCC ESSENCE Program Information Night will be held on Tuesday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the Merle S. Elliott Continuing Education and Conference Center located in the Career Programs Building (CPB) rooms 210-214. All students who plan to enroll in the ESSENCE program for the 2019-2020 school year are encouraged to attend. Parking will be available in lots B, C, or D.

    The 2019 Washington County Annual Homeshow will be held on Saturday, March 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC).

    • Children 12 and under - FREE
