(January 6, 2016) – The Hagerstown Community College Foundation, Inc. recently held a grand finale art show for Maryland artist, R. Benjamin Jones, which raised $21,400 for student scholarships.
Hagerstown Community College’s Adult Basic Education program is offering free GED and ESL classes starting February 1. There will be free walk-in orientations from January 11 to 22.
Hagerstown Community College will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Diversity Celebration on Monday, Jan. 18, from 1 to 3 p.m., in the Kepler Theater at HCC. The celebration will feature keynote speaker Warren Anderson and a dramatic rendition of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, performed by the Reverend Darin Mency.

Hagerstown Community College will hold a New Student Orientation on Thursday, Jan. 7, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All sessions begin in the Student Center main dining area.
Hagerstown Community College recently graduated its fifth class of Police Academy recruits. The HCC Police Academy provides entry-level police training to both agency-sponsored recruits and self-sponsored students.
The Continuing Education Division at Hagerstown Community College is offering a NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) review course from Monday, Jan. 4 to Thursday, Jan. 7, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Career Programs Building.
Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wed., Jan. 6; Wed., Jan. 20; Wed., Feb. 3; and Wed., Feb. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the STEM Building, room 409.
Hagerstown Community College’s Science Division is now offering a new four-credit course, BTC-103/BTC-103L Forensic Science with Forensic Science Lab, which will be considered a biological/physical science general education core course.
Classes begin on January 11. To register for classes online, visit www.hagerstowncc.edu/webadvisor. Starting on January 4, HCC’s Admissions, Records, and Registration, Academic Advising, and Finance offices will operate on extended hours for the month of January.
