HCC recently updated its system and will now be sending transcripts electronically. Beginning July 1, 2014, there will be a $5 fee per transcript.
Hagerstown Community College recently graduated its second class of Police Academy recruits. Following remarks from HCC Police Academy Director David Simonetti, HCC President Guy Altieri, Hagerstown Police Department Chief Mark Holtzman, Washington County Sheriff Douglas Mullendore, and student speaker Jeremy Ziegler, students were awarded certificates to commend their achievement.
On Tuesday, June 24, HCC's Technical Innovation Center will host a special meetup on how to build a sustainable company in Washington County. The meetup will be held at 6 p.m. in the Technical Innovation Center, room 323.
Joan Bontempo, an associate professor of art appreciation and art history and the coordinator of the art department at Hagerstown Community College, is currently exhibiting ceramic sculptures at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, located at 401 Museum Drive in Hagerstown.
HCC will hold its Second Annual Nora Roberts Writing Institute (NRWI) from Aug. 8-10. NRWI is a three-day summer writing retreat for aspiring fiction writers and includes a two-day Young Writers Institute for teen writers between the ages of 13-19.
The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the 229th Army Band as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.
The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the Maryland Defense Force Band as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Concert Series, on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.
Classes start June 23 and will continue through Aug. 1. Students meet Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Individual course costs will vary according to section and materials needed.
HCC is offering a free Summer Bridge Program for students in eighth, ninth, and tenth grades who are interested in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, and medical) careers.
Spaces are still available in some of the College for Kids classes to be offered this summer at HCC. Courses are available for children entering grades two through ten.
