  • HCC to update SAT score requirements for Math and English

    In accordance with the University System of Maryland and other Maryland Community Colleges, Hagerstown Community College will be updating its SAT score requirement for college-level Math and English (MAT-101 and ENG-101) from 550 to 500. This change will go into effect for the spring 2016 semester.

  • HCC launches 2015 edition of the Hedge Apple

    Hagerstown Community College will hold a launch party for the most recent publication of its literary arts magazine, the Hedge Apple, on Saturday, Oct. 24, beginning at 1:30 p.m., in the Kepler Center, Black Box Theater, on HCC’s main campus. 

  • October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month

    During the month of October, HCC is hosting several cybersecurity-related events for students, including a field trip to the MSP Forensics Lab in Pikesville, MD, a Forensics Demo at the Washington County Public Library, and two showings of the film WarGames.

  • Campus-wide Moment of Silence in honor of UCC #IamUCC

    Hagerstown Community College will participate in a National Moment of Silence in honor of the victims of the shooting at Umpqua Community College (UCC). All HCC students, faculty, and staff are asked to join in a campus-wide moment of silence on Thursday, October 8, at 2 p.m. 

  • Edgar Allan Poe impersonator at HCC

    Hagerstown Community College is partnering with Maryland Entertainment Group to bring Todd Loughry, Edgar Allan Poe impersonator, for a campus performance on Friday, October 16, at 8 p.m., in the Kepler Center. 

  • Free Technology Information Series for HCC Students

    Hagerstown Community College’s Information Technology (IT) and Learning Technologies (LT) departments will be hosting a free Technology Information Series, “Tech Talks," for HCC students. The series will run in October and November and each session will be from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the Life Skills Lab, located in the Student Center, room 170. 

  • HCC accepts 26 new members into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

    Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national honor society at Hagerstown Community College, recently accepted 26 new members. To be eligible for PTK, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and must have completed 12 credit hours of college-level work at HCC.

  • Nursing Information Session

  • Phi Theta Kappa Meeting

    Phi Theta Kappa Member meetings are held the fourth Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Student Center, Room 141. All members and interested parties are invited to attend. Officer meetings are scheduled at various times during the month. For more information, visit

  • Spectrum Club Meeting

    HCC’s Spectrum Club (LGBT Support) will meet every Thursday from 4 - 5 p.m. in the Student Center Conference Room.

    The Spectrum Club consists of students who are open to and accepting of all identities. The primary goal is to create a safe environment for students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, questioning, and straight allies.

  • “It’s a Wonderful Life" Dinner Theater Trip

    The HCC Alumni Social Committee is hosting a bus trip to Toby’s Dinner Theater in Columbia, MD to see the musical, “It’s a Wonderful Life. We will meet at HCC at 9:00 a.m. in Lot “O” and take a bus to the dinner theater as a group.
