  • Giuseppe joins HCC dance department

    The English and Humanities Division at Hagerstown Community College recently announced that dancer Gabriella Di Giuseppe has joined HCC’s dance department as an adjunct faculty member. At HCC, Giuseppe will be teaching hip-hop dance courses in which students will further develop their own hip-hop style and voice in choreography, strengthen their hip-hop dance technique, and further their knowledge of hip-hop dance history. 

  • 229th Army Band to perform June 25 at HCC

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the 229th Army Band as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Sunday, June 25, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater. 

  • HCC receives second Upward Bound grant

    Hagerstown Community College recently received its second five-year Upward Bound grant, totaling $1.28 million, from the U.S. Department of Education. This grant is designed to increase the high school graduation and college completion rates of low-income, first-generation students. 

  • HCC Alumni Association to host cruise preview on June 17

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host a free cruise preview meeting on Saturday, June 17, at 10:30 a.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room 108, on HCC’s main campus, for the upcoming 2018 Alumni & Friends Cruise. The 12-day cruise will be held from April 19 through May 1, 2018, aboard Holland America’s “ms Koningsdam.”

  • HCC names Rebok as new head volleyball coach

    Ashlyn Rebok has been named head volleyball coach for the 2017-18 academic year at Hagerstown Community College. A HCC alumna, Rebok helped the Lady Hawks to two consecutive Region XX titles and trips to the NJCAA Division II National Championships in 2009 and 2010. 

  • New law allows HCC to lower tuition for bordering out-of-state counties

    For Hagerstown Community College, that means that residents in Franklin and Fulton Counties, Pa.; Berkeley, Morgan, and Jefferson Counties, W.V.; and Loudoun County, Va.; will pay $230 per credit this fall, compared to $246 for other out-of-state counties. This will save these residents $48 on each three-credit course and at least $960 on a 60-credit associate degree. 

  • HCC and Joint Veterans Council held meeting

    (May 25, 2017) – Hagerstown Community College recently held a meeting with members of the Joint Veterans Council of Washington County to discuss recruitment, enrollment, retention, and support services for student veterans at HCC.

  • Volleyball camp offered at HCC this summer

    Volleyball camp will be offered at Hagerstown Community College this summer, for students in grades five through 12. Camp for grades five to eight will be held July 31 to August 3, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Grades nine to 12 will meet July 1 to August 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. 

  • HCC announces spring 2017 dean’s list

    Hagerstown Community College recently announced its dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must be attending school full-time (12 credits or more) and must maintain a GPA of 3.5 and above.
