  • HCC student receives national award

     Hagerstown Community College student Megan Lewis, of Smithsburg, has been named a 2016 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar. This scholarship is designed to provide new Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society members with financial resources for educational expenses while enrolled in a two-year college. 

  • HCC to auction surplus items on GovDeals.com

    Hagerstown Community College is auctioning various surplus items on GovDeals.com. Bidding is open from Monday, Oct. 3 to Sunday, Oct. 9, with auctions closing at the times specified. Items range from wooden chairs, computer lab desks, round/rectangular tables, padded chairs, and stools.

  • HCC to offer info sessions for dental hygiene program

    Free information sessions will be held in October and November for those who want to learn more about the dental hygiene program at Hagerstown Community College. The first session will be held on Monday, Oct. 10, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., in the Career Programs Building, room 122. The second session will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 12 to 1:30 p.m., in the Career Programs Building, room 122. 

  • HCC biotech student’s research out in the field

    Several students from Hagerstown Community College’s biotechnology program recently completed internships at regional science labs or on campus at InnovaBio-MD in collaboration with regional scientists. Students receive credible research experience and internship credit, as well as effective communication, problem solving, and leadership skills. 

  • HCC to host second annual Cornhole Tournament Oct. 29

    Hagerstown Community College’s Hawk Athletic Booster Club will hold its second annual Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, October 29, at 11 a.m., in the Athletic, Recreation, and Community Center (ARCC) on HCC’s campus. Maryland Cornhole Organization will provide a two-person team, double elimination format with experienced and amateur brackets.

  • Lampton named to HCC board of trustees

    Paula A. Lampton has been named by Governor Larry Hogan to serve a six-year term on the Hagerstown Community College board of trustees, which began July 1. Serving on the HCC board of trustees, Lampton will act as a voting member of the board in the development and evaluation of college policies. 

  • HCC to host college fair on October 12

    The 2016 Washington County College Fair will be held on Wednesday, October 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center at Hagerstown Community College. Representatives from more than 100 colleges, universities, and technical schools in the Mid-Atlantic region will be there to meet with prospective students. 

  • HCC to offer personal finance course

    The Continuing Education and Workforce Development Division at Hagerstown Community College will offer a series of classes on Tuesdays in October, entitled “Financial GPS Series.” The series is designed to help participants navigate and understand personal credit scores, debt and credit, short-term and long-term financial goals, and financial security. 

  • HCC nursing assistant students score above state and national averages

    Students in the certified nursing assistant/geriatric nursing assistant program at Hagerstown Community College performed better than the state and national averages on the skills and written portions of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), administered by the Maryland Board of Nursing. 

  • Hopkins named as HCC head men’s basketball coach

    Bernard Hopkins has been named the new head men’s basketball coach at Hagerstown Community College. Hopkins is a graduate of and former player at HCC and has played collegiate and professional basketball for the Colonial Athletic Association, Continental Basketball Association, and Association Club Basketball.

  • Spring Break 2017 - No Classes Held

    Spring Break will be held for faculty and students from March 5 through March 11, 2017. No classes will be held during that time.

    Administrative offices will remain open from March 6 through March 9 of that week, but will close for staff spring break on March 10. The entire campus will be closed on March 10, 2017.

  • 23rd Annual Flower & Garden Show

    The 23rd Annual HCC Flower & Garden Show, presented by the HCC Alumni Association, will be held March 11 & 12, 2017 in the ARCC on Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children under 12. The theme for 2017 is “Bring Back the Butterflies.”
