Hagerstown Community College’s Alumni Association recently announced its concert schedule for the 11th annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series. All concerts are free and are open to the public.
The net proceeds from the Hagerstown Community College Foundation’s 16th Annual Tribute, held in March, total $212,721, to benefit HCC student scholarships. The event, which had 450 attendees, honored HCC students and was hosted by Jim and Georgia Pierné.
The first class of students in the STEMM Technical Middle College (STMC) will graduate from HCC on Saturday. Nine students were recognized at a special ceremony on Tuesday for their significant accomplishments in earning associate degrees from HCC at the same time they are each completing high school.
Matthew Ryan will be named the new head men’s basketball coach at Hagerstown Community College, following confirmation by the HCC Board of Trustees at its May 26 meeting.
On Monday, April 13, local political leaders were joined by representatives from Washington County Public Schools, Head Start, business and community groups and child care providers at HCC to focus on the need for quality early learning opportunities for young children in our area.
The annual commencement ceremony will be held May 16, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC). Graduates should arrive by 8:45 a.m. in cap and gown.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national honor society at Hagerstown Community College, inducted 101 new members for the spring semester.
Beginning Tuesday, May 12, Hagerstown Community College will hold several graduation and pinning ceremonies to recognize students.
A free information session will be held for adult students at HCC on Wednesday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m., in the Career Programs Building, rooms 211 and 213.
HCC will host the annual Public Safety Awards on Tuesday, May 26, beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus. The Public Safety Awards recognize officers who have served the citizens of Washington County in an exemplary manner during the past year.
