This competitive program provides three college credits at the completion of the summer program. Funding from the National Science Foundation allows students to attend the institute for free. It will be held from June 20 to July 27, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 1 to 3 p.m., on HCC’s main campus.
Applications are now being accepted for the next class of the Hagerstown Community College Police Academy. This class starts July 3, 2017 and runs through December 15. The application deadline is May 15, 2017.
Hagerstown Community College will hold an open house for prospective students on Saturday, March 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., in HCC’s Student Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Hagerstown Community College will hold a special information night for students interested in HCC’s ESSENCE Early College Program on Wednesday, March 8, at 6:30 p.m., in the Career Programs Building, rooms 210 to 214.
Hagerstown Community College will offer Educación Vial, driver education classes in Spanish, from February 28 to March 30, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5:30 to 8:45 p.m., at HCC’s Valley Mall Center.
Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wednesdays, March 1, March 22, April 5, and April 19, at 4 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room 254.
The College for Kids program at Hagerstown Community College will offer a special group of technology classes this summer, targeting middle school girls entering grades six to eight. Through funding from JLG Industries, Inc., and a grant from the National Science Foundation, these classes are offered for the reduced cost of $8 each.
Hagerstown Community College will host the University of Maryland Gymkana Troupe on Friday, March 3, beginning at 7 p.m., in the college’s Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC). Well known for its high energy performances, Gymkana Troupe performs both men’s and women’s gymnastic apparatus routines, as well as novelty circus acts that incorporate the use of chairs, ladders, and trampolines.
The College for Kids program at Hagerstown Community College will celebrate its 30th anniversary this summer. The series of week-long courses covers a variety of subjects for students in elementary grades through high school. The program has been extended to seven weeks this year, starting June 19 and running through August 11.
The Continuing Education and Workforce Development division at Hagerstown Community College will deliver its spring and summer course schedule in February. A handful of local residents will receive a golden ticket inside their schedule. The golden ticket is good for $100 towards a continuing education course this spring or summer at HCC.
Spring Break will be held for faculty and students from March 4 through March 10, 2018. No classes will be held during that time.

HCC's Business Club will hold its annual trip to Annapolis on Friday, April 13, with meetings scheduled with the Maryland Chamber of Commerce; Leadership Maryland; and Senator Edward Riley, Vice-Chair, Finance Committee of Maryland State Government.
