The Continuing Education and Community Services Division at Hagerstown Community College is offering a one-day marketing workshop, “Blogging for Business,” on Fri., Feb. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at HCC’s Valley Mall Center.

The HCC Foundation will hold its annual Tribute Dinner on Fri., March 23, at 7 p.m., in the ARCC. This year's tribute will honor community leaders Don and Jone Bowman. Ad sponsorship deadline is Feb. 10.

HCC will host the University of Maryland Gymkana Troupe on Fri., Feb. 17, beginning at 7 p.m., in the ARCC. This event is open to students, staff, faculty, and the public. Admission is $1 per person.

As part an upcoming road expansion project,  the HCC entrance on Robinwood Drive will be converted to a roundabout. The project is set to begin in summer 2012.

In February, a variety of student events are happening on campus. Events include a Valentine's dance as well as auditions for the BSU Fashion Show and the Robinwood Players Variety Show.

Access to various parts of campus has changed due to the opening of the new STEM Building and the renovated Kepler Building. The former Science Building and the Classroom Building are now closed for renovation.

The renovated Kepler Building is now open. All classes previously scheduled for Kepler will be held in their originally scheduled locations. Classes will no longer meet in the Classroom Building.

HCC students in the Information Systems Technology (IST) Program are offering a Computer CPR Clinic throughout the spring semester. Student technicians will help diagnose PC issues related to hardware and will assist with computer upgrades.

Submissions to HCC's literary arts magazine, the Hedge Apple, are due Feb. 1. Submissions can include art, fiction, poetry, or memoirs. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to submit.

The next audition for the upcoming Robinwood Players Variety Show will be held on Fri., Feb. 10 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the new Performing and Visual Arts Education Center at Kepler.

This spring, transfer advisors from four-year colleges and universities will have special evening hours reserved for students. All transfer visits will take place on Tuesdays, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the Student Center.

Despite plans to open the Kepler Building on Jan. 17, the college is still awaiting final occupancy approvals and must continue to hold classes in the Classroom Building until final approvals have been attained.

HCC's new Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Building is now open. All science classes have been moved to the STEM Building and the former Science Building is now closed for renovation.
