Students enrolled in credit programs at Hagerstown Community College, who are interested in studying video production, now have two new courses to choose from. Video and Audio II and Motion Design will be offered for the spring 2014 semester, which begins January 13, 2014.
The deadline to apply for an internship for the spring 2014 semester is Sat., Dec. 14. In order to be eligible for an internship, students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and must have completed at least half of their program requirements.
HCC's Health Sciences Division will host two informational sessions for prospective students in its Dental Hygiene Program on Thurs., Dec. 12 and Mon., Dec. 16. Any current student interested in the program is encouraged to attend.
HCC will hold its winter student art exhibit from Sunday, Dec. 8 through Friday, Dec. 13, in the Kepler Center. The opening reception will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.
Finals for the fall 2013 semester will be held from Dec. 11 through Dec. 17. A final exam schedule is available online. Students should contact their instructors with specific questions. Fall classes end Dec. 17.
Book Buyback for the fall 2013 semester will be held from Dec. 5 through Dec. 17. Only books purchased through the HCC bookstore may be sold back during the buyback period. Students will need to bring a valid I.D.
Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the STEM Building, room 407.
HCC will hold a launch party for the most recent publication of its literary arts magazine, the Hedge Apple, on Mon., Dec. 2, beginning at 5:30 p.m., in the Student Center. Free and open to the public.
Scholarships are money that does not have to be paid back. They are often awarded based on merit, skill, or a unique characteristic. Some scholarships are also awarded based on membership in various organizations. Little scholarships add up, so you're encouraged to apply for more than one.
Recruitment Outreach Chief and diplomat Terry Davidson will host a special information session on careers and internships with the U.S. Department of State on Tues., Nov. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m., in the Career Programs Building.
HCC's Technology & Computer Studies (TCS) Division is holding a special seminar on obtaining your security clearance on Thurs., Nov. 7, at 2 p.m., in the Career Programs Building, room 213. This event is free and is open to current students, staff, and faculty.
