HCC recognizes outstanding adjunct faculty

Hagerstown Community College recently recognized five of its outstanding adjunct faculty members for 2023.

Kristina Davis, who has been an adjunct instructor for the Exercise Science and Health Division for more than 12 years, has been recognized as the 2023 Outstanding Adjunct Faculty member of the year. Davis’ nomination referenced her ability to engage with students in person and online and relate her personal experiences to course content. Additionally, she consistently brings new ideas to curriculum discussions and initiates updated course materials.

Division recipients included Erin Walshkirkman, who has been an adjunct faculty member for the Developmental Education and Adult Literacy Services Division for more than two years; Emily Boward, who started as a student at HCC and is now an adjunct instructor in the Mathematics and Science Division; Ashley Dolsen, who has taught as a nursing adjunct for more nine years; and Edward Mankoski, who has been an adjunct faculty member for the Commercial Vehicle Transportation program for ten years.
