The Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) Program is a specific career ladder course for geriatric nursing assistants currently working in long term care. Students who complete the CMA program work with the nursing staff in the long term care facility to administer medications and topical treatments to nursing home residents. Becoming a CMA is an intermediate career step between being geriatric nursing assistant (GNA) and licensed practical nurse (LPN) or registered nurse (RN).
Anyone interested in registering for the Certified Medicine Aide Program should visit the Admissions Process page to learn more about program requirements and required documentation and to download the CMA Admissions Packet. The required documentation must to be completed prior to scheduling an pre-registration appointment.
