  • HCC to hold annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration

    Hagerstown Community College will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Diversity Celebration on Monday, Jan. 21, from 1 to 3 p.m., in the Kepler Theater at HCC. The celebration will feature keynote speaker Antonio D. Underwood, Fulbright Scholar to Serbia, owner/CEO of Tone East Music/TEM Technology, LLC, and author of The Third Eye. A dramatic rendition of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech will be performed by the Reverend Darin Mency, from Hagerstown’s Greater Campher Temple. 

  • HCC Middle College accepting applications for fall

    The STEMM Technical Middle College (STMC) at Hagerstown Community College is now accepting applications for the fall 2019 class, with a priority deadline of March 1. Interested students and parents are encouraged to attend one of the program information sessions on Wednesdays, Jan. 23, Feb. 6, and Feb. 20, at 4 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room 254. 

  • HCC students collect more than 50 blankets for blanket drive

    During the months of November and December, the Student Government Association (SGA) at Hagerstown Community College held a blanket drive to benefit local non-profits. More than 50 blankets were collected and donated to Soldiers’ Angels, Project Linus, and Humane Society of Washington County. 

  • HCC accepts 30 new members into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

    Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national honor society at Hagerstown Community College, recently accepted 30 new members. To be eligible for PTK, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and must have completed 12 credit hours of college-level work at HCC. 

  • HCC to hold info sessions for Promise Program

    Program information sessions for the Maryland and HCC Promise Programs will be held on Jan. 8 and 24, and Feb. 5 and 21, at 4 p.m., in the Student Center on HCC’s main campus. College Promise programs make the cost of community college more affordable to qualifying students. 

  • HCC announces fall 2018 dean’s list

    Hagerstown Community College recently announced its dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must be attending school full-time (12 credits or more of college-level courses, 101 and above) and earn a minimum quality-point average of 3.50 for the most recent semester.

  • HCC students tour Volvo

    Students studying mechanical engineering technology and advanced manufacturing recently went on a tour of the Volvo plant in Hagerstown. 

  • HCC raises $10,251 to benefit United Way of Washington County

    During the month of October, faculty, staff, and students from Hagerstown Community College held a giving campaign to benefit the United Way of Washington County. Between October 1 and October 31, $10,251 was collected or pledged to the United Way.

    HCC will be closed for Martin Luther King Day on January 21, 2019. No classes will be held and all administrative offices will be closed.

    Student Services will host a Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Kepler Performing & Visual Arts Education Center Theater. The event offers free admission & is open to the public.

  • Student Life Fair

    Community organizations with volunteer opportunities and HCC’s student organizations will be set up in the Student Center. Learn how to get involved outside of the classroom! The event will include carnival-themed food and music and a raffle for a $50 Go Green eatery gift card.

  • Spring 2019 Graduation Deadline

    The application deadline for spring 2019 Graduation is Friday, February 1. All students should complete the online Application for Graduation through WebAdvisor to receive a Degree, Certificate, or Letter of Recognition regardless of their participation in the graduation ceremony.
