Hagerstown Community College’s Robinwood Players will perform “Marat/Sade” from Fri., Dec. 2 through Sun., Dec. 4, in the Classroom Building Auditorium (CLR-111).
Written by playwright Peter Weiss and translated from the original German by Geoffrey Skelton, “Marat/Sade” is based on the story of the Marquis de Sade and the plays that he staged with fellow inmates while imprisoned in Charenton Asylum. The show won the 1965 Tony Award for Best Play and Best Director, as well as the 1966 New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play.
Show times are 8 p.m. on Dec. 2 and Dec 3 and 2 p.m. on Dec. 4. General admission is $10 but HCC students, staff, and faculty can attend for free. Advanced tickets can be purchased through the HCC Bookstore by calling 240-500-2271. Tickets will also be available at the door prior to each performance.
