The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the Maryland Defense Force Band as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Concert Series, on Sun., June 17, at 4:30 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.
The Maryland Defense Force (MDDF) Band consists of more than 20 volunteer musicians who perform at military ceremonies and events for the Maryland Defense Force and also provide musical support for the 229th Army Band, the Maryland Military Department (MMD), and the Maryland National Guard (MDNG). The band currently performs under the direction of Major Jari Villanueva, commander and conductor, MDDF Band.
During the HCC performance, the MDDF Band will be joined by members of the Royal Australian Navy Band. The Royal Australian Navy Band is currently visiting the U.S. and will be performing alongside the MDDF Band at several concerts.
Co-sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, this concert is free and is open to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please note that no outside food is permitted on the amphitheater grounds.
