THE ACADEMIC TESTING CENTER WILL BE CLOSED FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 12:00 P.M. ON FRIDAY, JULY 12, 2013. WE WILL BE OPEN THAT DAY FROM 12:00 TO 5:00 P.M.
The Academic Testing Center supports the pursuit of the personal and professional educational goals of HCC students, faculty, and community members by providing a safe, secure, and conducive environment for the administration of tests.
The Academic Testing Center assures proper course placement for all students seeking a degree or certificate, or attempting their first college-level English or mathematics course, and offers national and challenge testing for qualified people.
Placement testing is done on a walk-in basis and is free to HCC Students. Testing takes approximately 3 hours to complete. A valid Photo ID and 7-digit HCC Student ID number is required for all Placement testing. Please make prior arrangements for childcare, as children are not permitted in the Academic Testing Center.
Placement re-testing is done on a walk-in basis. A re-testing fee may apply. Faculty authorized tests are given on a walk-in basis. Test takers are also responsible for abiding by all Academic Testing Center Guidelines for Students [1].
Students with special needs who require testing accommodations should first contact Disability Services [2] before coming to the Academic Testing Center for any testing. In order to best serve our students requiring specific accommodations while testing, we ask them to stop by the Academic Testing Center, LRC 322, five days prior to their scheduled test to make arrangements for assistance.
The Academic Testing Center is a participant of the National College Testing Association and the Consortium of College Testing Centers and a member of the Center for Academic Integrity.
Detailed information about the Praxis exam can be obtained and scheduled through the Praxis website [3].
