Author and radio personality Roger Keller will offer a lunchtime course on Movie Music, Civil War Music, the Old Songs and More on Tuesdays from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., Sept. 18 through Oct. 9, at the Hagerstown Community College Valley Mall Center. The course is offered through HCC’s Center for Continuing Education Lifelong Learning program.
During the Sept. 18 class, Keller will explore the music from the soundtracks of the award winning movies of the past 20 years, along with some movie “goofs.” The Sept. 25 class will feature Civil War music and the stories behind it. On Oct. 2, the class will listen to old songs with championship barbershop quartets and choruses. The final class will feature American, college halftime, Prussian, Austrian, Revolutionary and Civil War marches and end with “Circus Screamers.”
