The Continuing Education Division at Hagerstown Community College has been approved by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to offer classes and testing for the Entry Level Solar Photovoltaic program.
This program can help benefit area contractors and electrical businesses by encouraging them to expand their services into the solar photovoltaic field through planning PV system installations, identifying grid-tie and standalone PV installations, designing electrical and mechanical requirements for PV arrays, and understanding solar panel basics and mounting techniques.
The first course, “Solar PV Installer,” will be held on Tuesdays, Jan. 29 through April 9, from 6 to 9:30 p.m., at a grant-reduced cost of $7 per person for qualified applicants. Completion of this course enables participants to sit for the NABCEP Entry Level PV Exam which will be held on Sat., May 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, at a grant-reduced cost of $107 per person.
Grant tuition adjustments are available for the first ten qualified applicants. To complete a solar PV grant application, contact Jack Drooger at 240-500-2453 or firstname.lastname@example.org
