The Continuing Education Division at Hagerstown Community College will offer veterinary assistant training beginning Feb. 17 at HCC’s Valley Mall Center. The full training consists of four courses offered from Feb. through Dec. 2014. Upon successful completion of all four courses, participants will earn a certification of completion from HCC.

The first course, “Terminology for Veterinary Assistants,” will be held Feb. 17 to April 14. Course two, “Veterinary Assistant Training Principles Part I,” will be held from April 21 to Aug. 4. Course three, “Veterinary Assistant Training Practices,” will be held from Aug. 11 to Sept. 15. The final course, “Veterinary Assistant Training Principles Part II,” will be held Sept. 22 to Dec. 13.
Portions of this training are licensed by the Institute for Veterinary Training at Carroll Community College. Students must be at least 18 prior to the first class and must have a high school diploma or GED.
