Intro to Personal Computing
If you are tired of waiting at the technology on-ramp, then head for this class that teaches you more than just how to use a computer. Become confident with the components and terminology that define today's personal computing experience. Discover how you can use a computer at home to send an e-mail or instant message or at work to write a memo or create a spreadsheet. Make the Windows desktop a friendly place to visit and the Internet a safe place to surf Web sites or make purchases online. (Textbook Required)

Keyboarding on the PC
Mastering the personal computer starts with mastering the keyboard. "Keyboarding for the PC" allows you to do this at your own pace through easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions and computer-led tutorials. Individual progress on the alpha and numeric keys is charted as you work toward the ten-week goal of twenty words-per-minute. (Textbook required)

Beginning QuickBooks
An effective bookkeeping system can make the difference between success and failure in your business. You can quickly and easily master basic bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks and the help of your instructor. Learn how to set up a QuickBooks company including income accounts, payables and receivables, invoice reports, expense tracking, and payroll. Windows experience required and basic bookkeeping experience helpful. (Textbook Required)

Web Design I
Learn fundamental Web design techniques including graphics, HTML, JavaScript, rollovers, publishing with FTP, and tables-based design. Dreamweaver will be the primary software used and you will learn to manage Web sites, use templates, use library items and gain a general understanding of the Dreamweaver design and coding environment. This course serves as an introduction to Internet technologies used to support browsing, file transfers, e-commerce and user security. Other topics will include standards, accessibility (508), Internet research and intellectual property rights as they relate to Web content. Required: "Intro to Personal Computing" or equivalent knowledge.

Cisco Router and Switch Device Security
Hardening your Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices against purposeful or accidental compromise is important to your network health.  Explore best practices for maintaining secure Cisco network devices through hardening the IOS and controlling access from applications and users.  Includes security lab on Saturday, June 8, 9am - 1pm in STEM 110.  Other sessions held online.

Intro to Ethical Hacking
Join the ranks of IT professionals who have adopted hacker tools and techniques for conducting ethical or "White Hat" hacking.  Understand the legal issues related to penetration testing and how hacking applications can be used to create a more secure network infrastructure.  First four sessions online; fifth session meets in a penetration testing lab. 

Web Design II
Learn fundamental design and development concepts for creating Web sites.  This course provides a more detailed introduction to Web design, from planning to publishing.  Topics include using (X)HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), JavaScript, internationalization, multimedia integration and implementing professional techniques for successful search engine recognition.  This course will have a strong focus on page design as well as 508 compliance and handicap accessibility.  Pre-requisite: CMW 101
