Food Safety Managers Certification
This course provides food service facility owners, mangers and food handlers with comprehensive knowledge of food safety agency regulations. Students learn about proper methods of food handling and preparation, the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) concept of food safety, personal hygiene, proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities and guidelines for working with regulatory agencies. Certified Professional Food Manager from the National Environmental Health Association is awarded upon completion of the course and passing a final examination. This course meets the requirements in those jurisdictions where food manager certification is mandated. Fee includes materials, exam and certification.
TIPS Training
TIPS is a skills-based training program designed to prevent intoxication, underage drinking, and drunk driving. By building on individuals' fundamental "people skills", TIPS provides the knowledge and confidence they need to recognize potential alcohol-related problems and how to effectively intervene to prevent alcohol related tragedies.
Food Handler Safety Certificate
Upon successful completion of this course, students will earn their National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) Food Handler Certification. This NEHA-developed food handler program and American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-accredited class is valid throughout the United States in jurisdiction requiring certification. It is designed to provide essential food safety information and documental training for those companies, institutions, business and individuals that are required, or wish to have an entry level staff with a formal understanding of food safety and safe food practices. Topics include: Foodborne Illness and Contamination, Proper Receiving and Storage Practices, Preparing and Serving Food, Personal Hygiene, Effective Cleaning and Sanitizing, and Pest Prevention. The class is of grant value to those that wish to gain basic food safety knowledge and apply it to their own needs. A NEHA certificate and wallet card will be issued upon successful completion of the multiple choice test at the end of the class. Please note: This is not the 16-hour Certified Food Service Manager course, although that subject and certification is contained in this catalog as well.
