Program Description:
The certificate is designed for the individual who is working in the movement of raw materials and freight to manufacturing, warehousing, and retail facilities. Students who currently possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may petition to receive college credit for previous licensures and experiences. Students may choose either Track I or Track II to earn this certificate.

Special Requirements:
  • Interested individuals must have a valid driver’s license from Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia or Virginia. (HCC’s training is for these states).
  • A Department of Transportation physical and a drug screen are necessary for entry into this program. Fees for these services are included in the fee structure. A driving record is also required.
  • Students will be responsible for the cost of the CDL, Class A, Learner’s Permit, payable to the respective motor vehicle administration.
  • Students must be able to speak and read English (Federal Dept. of Transportation regulation for potential CDL drivers). Assessment testing may be required.
  • Please note that a criminal background check will be performed by employers and a criminal record may decrease chances of employability.
