Computer CPR ClinicThe Computer CPR Clinic is designed for new technicians to experience servicing computers that need technical service by troubleshooting/diagnosing/upgrading software and fixing hardware related problems. The clinic also helps technicians to be able to interact with actual clients, giving them the social skills they will need in the field. Upon graduation or receiving of certificate, the technicians will be doing exactly what we do in our clinics; fixing or upgrading computers. Some of the services that we provide at the CPR Clinic are the following:
HCC and the ITA club sponsor the Computer CPR Clinics two times per semester. In most cases we have been very successful with the clinics. It is a huge building tool when developing the novice technician’s ability to work with real clients, as well as raising money for the club. The ITA club is a non-profit organization and requests donations for the work performed. We have recommended donations for each action performed. I have only heard positive feedback from all of the clients that the ITA club has serviced. I have seen that some of the clients have returned and/or advertised to others to come back for more advising and/or service to their PCs. I hope that all students in the IT field experience this wonderful tool to further their education so that they may experience what we have experienced.
