What is Expected of You as a Volunteer?

Orientation: Before beginning your volunteer assignment, you will attend an orientation session and receive a College Identification Badge. The ID badge will be renewed annually. During orientation you will learn many things about Hagerstown Community College. You are agreeing to volunteer at HCC for one year; however, your volunteer commitment to the College can be renewed.

Signing In/Out: When you arrive to volunteer, report to your assignment area and log your arrival time. Please be sure to sign out when you leave and write your number of hours worked. This will ensure that your hours are logged accurately.

Smoking: No smoking is allowed in any College building. There are areas outside on campus where smoking is allowed. Please dispose of cigarettes appropriately

Volunteer Parking: Volunteers are able to park on any available lot in any area not designated “staff.” If you require handicapped parking, a special permit is required from Campus Police/Security. You must show your parking permit in your car’s front window to avoid being ticketed. You will notice that the campus is growing and construction is going on in several areas. This is going to make parking difficult for everyone so please be patient.

Annual Recognition: Each spring a recognition event is held in honor of volunteers. Awards are given to active volunteers for the hours served throughout the previous year.

Thank you for agreeing to volunteer at Hagerstown Community College.
