New HCC students are often surprised by how much there is to do on campus outside the classroom. The College supports an active social life combined with academics. There is a wide variety of sports teams and campus clubs for students to get involved with and make new friends. Listed below are campus locations where students typically go to study, relax, eat, and socialize.
Home to HCC's Student Government Association and Student Activities Office; HCC's Dean of Students; and the TRiO Student Support Services Program. Renovation and expansion of the existing Student Center began on Sept. 12, 2014. The renovation will continue throughout the next year and will finish in Fall 2015. The Student Center will remain open during construction, however, various departments and services have been relocated to other buildings on campus until the renovation is complete. The Student Center has nine areas that can be reserved for events online using the Student Center Room/Space Request Form.
HCC's premier cafeteria located on the upper level of the Career Programs Building (CPB) next to The Merle S. Elliott Continuing Education and Conference Center. Featuring HDTV, Wi-Fi hookup, indoor and outdoor seating, and a full-service deli, salad bar, pizza bar, and more. William M. Brish Library
HCC’s Brish Library collections include over 50,000 titles in all subjects taught at the college, with resources in books, periodicals, and CDs and DVDs. Electronic collections include 35 databases with over 18,000 journals, over 28,000 e-books, and more than 7,500 e-films. The library is located on the second floor of the Learning Resource Center (LRC). Tables, couches, private student booths, and computer terminals are available for student use. Learning Support Center
The Learning Support Center (LSC) provides academic support to all students taking credit and non-credit classes at HCC. Support includes drop-in tutoring (for individuals), supplemental instruction by trained staff, workshops, and staff- and peer-led study groups for a variety of subjects. Athletic, Recreation and Community Center
The Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC) at HCC is available to fill the fitness and recreation needs of all HCC students, HCC employees, program participants, and the community.
