Education and History:
Theresa Marks received her Associates in Science, Dental Hygiene Degree in 1992 from Cape Cod Community College in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Over the years, she worked in various offices including private practice, public health, educational and military facilities. She pursued her Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene in 2006 from Eastern Washington University and continued with further education at University of Washington, receiving her Master’s in Oral Biology for the Dental Hygiene Educator in 2009. Ms. Mark’s special project at University of Washington pertained to working with the dental hygiene and dental students within the University of Washington’s DECOD Clinic (Dental Education for the Care of the Disabled Clinic). She is currently working at Hagerstown Community College as the Program Coordinator for the Dental Programs. She is the lead faculty of the Dental Assisting Certificate Program and she is developing the Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene here at Hagerstown Community College.
Education philosophy: “Educating learners to become effective at patient management skills, establish positive patient and collegiate rapport, and serve as a mentor for students.”
Practice philosophy is: “Educating Patients on the prevention and treatment of oral diseases while delivering safe quality care to all patient populations.”
