HCC to hold ESSENCE information sessions for high school students

*Due to the COVID-19 situation, the April dates have been canceled.

(February 14, 2020)— Hagerstown Community College will hold special information sessions for students interested in HCC’s ESSENCE Early College Program on Tuesday, March 10 at 5 p.m.; Friday, April 10 at 10 a.m.; and Tuesday, April 28 at 1 p.m., in the Career Programs Building, rooms 212 to 214.

The ESSENCE Program is designed to give high academic achievers the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. To participate in the ESSENCE Program, each student must have a 2.5 high school GPA and be 16 years old. ESSENCE students can be in local high schools, local private schools or homeschooled. Students are in the ESSENCE program regardless of where (at HCC or an off-campus location including local high schools) or how the courses are offered (traditional, hybrid, or online).

The information sessions are geared towards high school students who plan to enroll in the ESSENCE Program for the upcoming 2020-2021 academic year. Advance registration is required. Call 240-500-2238 or email admissions@hagerstowncc.edu to reserve a seat. Parents are encouraged to attend.
