HCC to hold grand opening for new culinary incubator

Officials at Hagerstown Community College will hold a public grand opening for the new Mama’s Biscuits Culinary Incubator on Wednesday, May 25, from 3 to 5 p.m., on the campus of HCC. The event will feature live food demonstrations, food and beverage samples, outdoor activities, and an entrepreneur showcase.

Mama’s Biscuits is a Maryland-based company, led by local entrepreneur Lesley Riley, founder and CEO. She is currently leading the CPG space in the frozen bread category in almost 5,000 retail stores nationwide. The national brand can be found in Walmart, Target, Publix, Trader Joe’s, Wegmans, and others. Riley will mentor entrepreneurs seeking to gain traction in the food and beverage space.

The public event will feature culinary incubator members Garden Bounty Vegan Cuisine, Harambee54, KreeativeKreations 2Catering, Sufi, The Coffee Spot, and Urban Delightz.

Mama’s Biscuits Culinary Incubator is housed on the HCC campus, as an affiliate of the David W. Fletcher Incubator + Labs. The Culinary Incubator offers hourly space use of the commercial kitchen, on-site mentorship, business development, and other support for catering chefs, mobile food truck owners and entrepreneurs producing food and beverage packaged goods.

The Fletcher Incubator has community support from partners such as the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, TEDCO, Washington County Business Development, the Alice Virginia and David W. Fletcher Foundation, City of Hagerstown Community and Economic Development and SBDC.
