U.S. Navy Commodores to perform Aug. 13 at HCC

The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Navy Commodores as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.

The U.S. Navy Commodores feature 18 of the Navy’s premier jazz and big band musicians playing under the direction of MUC Andrew W. Francisco. Since the band’s founding in 1969, the Commodores have played with a variety of well-known jazz musicians including Ray Charles, Louie Bellson, Terry Gibbs, Bruce Johnstone, Bob Mintzer, James Moody, Clark Terry and Eugene "Snooky" Young. Known for its high energy performances, the Commodores fuse classic jazz and big band music with the popular music of today, and frequently perform original compositions.

Concerts are subject to change by the U.S. Military. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please note that no outside food is permitted on the amphitheater grounds. Personal lawn chairs and blankets are permitted for lawn seating.
