  • HCC middle college students graduate

    Hagerstown Community College is pleased to announce the graduates in the sixth class of the STEMM Technical Middle College (STMC). Thirty-one students are earning associate degrees from HCC at the same time they are completing high school. The program includes educational pathways in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, and medical) fields. 

  • HCC to offer online College for Kids this summer

    Hagerstown Community College has announced that its summer College for Kids program is moving online, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Registrations for in-person camps will be canceled and refunded in the coming weeks. 

  • HCC offer Homeschool Courses this fall

    Hagerstown Community College will offer STEM-focused courses for homeschool students this fall. Each course consists of an online, self-paced program with a hands-on learning lab component. Courses will be aligned with the academic fall and spring calendars, and run for a total of 30 weeks. 

  • HCC offers two free summer classes for 2020 high school grads

    HCC is offering two free summer classes to area 2020 high school graduates. The offer is open to 2020 high school/homeschool graduates from Washington County and HCC’s neighboring out-of-state counties. Students may select one or two online summer courses, and must be enrolled by May 26. 

  • HCC to host Facebook Lives Series

    HCC will host a Facebook Live Series, “At Home with HCC,” on five consecutive Thursdays, starting April 30 at 5 p.m. Mike Martin, director of academic advising, and Kevin Crawford, director of admissions, will share information and answer questions related to all that HCC has to offer to new and transfer students. 

  • CARES funding now available for eligible HCC students

    HCC is partnering with the U.S. Department of Education to distribute Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding to students in financial need due to unexpected expenses related to the spring 2020 disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus.

  • HCC to host virtual Earth Day activities

    In recognition of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Hagerstown Community College will host a week of virtual activities, April 20 to 24. The theme for the week is “our natural connections.”

  • HCC Foundation creates Student Emergency Assistance Fund

    The HCC Foundation has established a new Student Emergency Assistance Fund that provides a one-time financial stipend for HCC students who find themselves facing homelessness, illness, unemployment, or who might otherwise be unable to continue their education, due to COVID-19 related circumstances. The HCC Alumni Association will match donations, up to $10,000.

  • HCC to offer online driver’s ed course

    During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hagerstown Community College is offering driver education classes online. Approved by the Maryland MVA, the distance learning option covers the 30-hours of classroom required for driver education completion.
