  • HCC to hold winter student dance concert

    The English and Humanities Division at Hagerstown Community College will hold a winter dance concert on Saturday, December 7, at 7 p.m., in the Kepler Theater. Dance students will perform up-tempo jazz and tap numbers, modern and ballet dance.

  • Three students in HCC’s radiography program win awards

    Three Hagerstown Community College students recently won awards during the Maryland Society of Radiologic Technologists Student Essay Competition and Ted Lynch Award recognition. In this year’s essay competition, three HCC students won the top awards. 

  • HCC Middle College to hold info sessions

    Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wednesdays, November 20 and December 18, at 4 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room 254. 

  • 5K “Turkey Trot” to be held at HCC

    HCC's athletic teams will host the 19th annual “Turkey Trot” 5K run/walk/kids races and food/toy drive on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, on the HCC campus. Packet pick-up will start at 7 a.m., followed by the race start at 9 a.m. The Turkey Trot is a dog-friendly event and dogs may be registered for the race for $5.

  • Kris Kringle Holiday Craft Show to be held at HCC

    The 36th annual Kris Kringle Holiday Craft Show will be held at Hagerstown Community College on Saturday, November 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, November 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC) on campus. 

  • HCC to offer info sessions for dental programs

    Free information sessions will be held in December and February for those who want to learn more about the dental assisting and dental hygiene programs at HCC. The first session will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and the second session will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

  • HCC holds fall fest at Children’s Learning Center

    The Children’s Learning Center at HCC held its annual Fall Fest on October 17. Teachers planned a variety of outdoor activities that included an obstacle course, pony and barrel rides, crafts, bean bag toss, a campus “pumpkin patch,” and other games. 

  • HCC to host Region XX/MDJUCO Cross Country Championships on Oct. 26

    HCC will host the combined Region XX and Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MDJUCO) Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the outdoor track on HCC’s main campus. The women’s race will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the men’s race at 11 a.m. Award ceremonies will immediately follow the men’s race. 

  • HCC Volleyball Team to host Hometown Heroes Night

    HCC's Women’s Hawk Volleyball Team will host a fundraising event to benefit hometown hero, Ron (Spoonie) Spoonire on Friday, Oct. 18, at 6 p.m., at the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC) on campus. Admission to the game is by donation. Catering will be provided by Mission BBQ of Hagerstown. Veteran and active military, as well as police, firefighters, and paramedics will eat for free with ID proof of service. Food and drink combos available for all others at $10. 

  • HCC to host Leadercast Women 2019

    Hagerstown Community College, in partnership with Worx Graphic Design, will host a one-day leadership event, entitled “Leadercast Women 2019: Unique Leadership Development Event for Inspiration and Networking,” on Friday, October 18, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Behavioral Science and Humanities Building on HCC’s main campus.

    A recruiter from Fiserv will be on campus to meet with interested students in the Student Center lobby. No appointment necessary.

  • NARCAN Training

    In an effort to provide education on how to recognize, respond to, and prevent an opioid overdose, the Washington County Health Department will be hosting monthly Narcan trainings in the Student Center (STC), Room 182. If you are concerned that a loved one is at risk for overdosing on heroin or a prescription pain medication, this training is for you. No RSVP or registration is necessary.

  • Snow Tubing at Whitetail

    Free Admission to go Snow Tubing at Whitetail will be held on Wednesday, January 29 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. You must reserve your seat through the Student Activities Office to participate. There are only 25 spots reserved for students.

  • Sealant Saturday

    Hagerstown Community College’s Dental Hygiene Clinic will host Sealant Saturday on February 1, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., in the Career Programs Building on HCC’s main campus.

    HCC’s Dental Hygiene Program will provide limited dental exams to children ages six to 16, to determine the need for dental sealants, thin plastic coatings painted in the groves of teeth to prevent tooth decay.
