  • Wilson College, Hagerstown Community College Partner on Accord to Provide Students with Smooth Transition between Institutions

    Wilson College and Hagerstown Community College have reached an agreement guaranteeing qualified HCC students admission to Wilson bachelor’s degree programs and allowing them to transfer all credits earned with a grade of C or higher. The goal is to encourage more HCC graduates to pursue a bachelor’s degree after they complete their associate degree by making the transition as smooth and economical as possible, according to officials at both institutions.

  • HCC receives NEH grant

    Hagerstown Community College was recently awarded a three-year, $96,627 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. HCC’s grant is part of $14.8 million in grants to support 253 humanities projects in 44 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico. 

  • HCC receives gift from the Fletcher Foundation

    Hagerstown Community College was recently awarded a three-year, $98,372 grant from the Alice Virginia and David W. Fletcher Foundation for the purpose of improving job training programs and enhancing economic development opportunities. 

  • HCC receives $15,000 from The Columbia Bank

    Hagerstown Community College Foundation recently received $15,000 from The Columbia Bank, to be used for HCC’s Center for Business and Entrepreneurial Studies, which is currently under development on the HCC campus. 

  • HCC and Purdue Global create transfer agreement

    Officials at Hagerstown Community College and Purdue Global recently created an educational alliance agreement that will benefit students who attend both institutions. Students who have completed an associate degree at HCC will be able to transfer to Purdue Global, where they will receive an 18 percent tuition discount. Those who transfer from HCC without completing the associate degree will receive a 10 percent discount at Purdue Global. 

  • HCC art professors to exhibit artwork at NOMA Gallery December show

    Hagerstown Community College faculty members Joan Bontempo and Beth Carey have been accepted to display their jewelry and ceramic works in the December show “Blessings from the Fire Gods,” at the NOMA Gallery in Frederick. The exhibit at NOMA Gallery will be open from November 30 to December 30 on Fridays, from 4 to 8 p.m.; Saturdays from 12 to 8 p.m.; and Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m. 

  • HCC students to perform three one-act plays

    Students in Hagerstown Community College’s elements of dramatic production class will perform three one-act plays in the Kepler Black Box Theater at HCC on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at 8 p.m., and Dec. 2 at 2:30 p.m.

  • HCC to hold fall student art exhibit in December

    Hagerstown Community College will hold its fall student art exhibit from Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14, in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus. The opening reception will be held on Monday, Dec. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by HCC choir, jazz, wind, and guitar ensemble performances at 7 p.m. This event is free and the public is invited to attend. 

  • HCC students to perform “An Evening of Dance”

    The event will feature students from HCC’s Dance Company and dance classes. Featured work includes capstone projects from two HCC Dance Program graduates, Katie Myers and Ocoee Chapelle. Guest choreographers include Gabriella DiGiuseppe and Liz Fink-Rakoski, with guest performances from Neshema Dance Company, and Ballet & All that Jazz.

    Hagerstown Community College's department of Admissions & Enrollment Management will hold a series of information sessions about the College Promise Info Sessions in the Student Center. The topics of discussion will include both HCC's Promise Pathway Program and the Maryland Community College Scholarship Program.

    Winter Break begins on Friday, December 21, at 12 p.m. HCC closes at noon and will remain closed through January 2, 2019. No classes will be held and administrative offices will be closed during this time.
